The Self

In my personal journey of spiritual discovery, I've reached a significant milestone: recognizing and embracing my True Self. It's a transformative experience, akin to awakening from a long sleep to see oneself not just through the lens of everyday experiences and emotions, but as the essence of who I am at the core.

I'm not claiming to be an awakened being at all. Far from it!  Yet, I am acutely aware that I am a spiritual being inhabiting a physical body.

This awareness allows a view life from a unique vantage point, balancing one foot in the spiritual realm and the other in the physical. It's like being an observer, standing at a point where I can see both worlds with clarity and equilibrium. Your guides serve as constant reminders of your true identity, helping me to maintain this balance.

Moving Beyond the Logical Mind

By doing these inner journeys we can understand that we are much more than just our logical minds. Thoughts, analyses, and rationalizations are merely facets of a more profound being. This realization aligns with the concept of the Self, as explained by Richard Schwartz in Internal Family Systems therapy and In ego psychology it would be called the "observing ego;" Buddhists refer to it as the "witness" or "mindfulness."

The Self – the core of our being – is characterized by mindful awareness, compassionate connectedness, and calm, confident clarity. When operating from this Self, my experience of life transcends ordinary thoughts and emotions, enriching your world with greater depth and meaning.

Gaining Perspective as the Observer

Embracing the role as the observer, the Self, can be a revelation. This state of awareness is quite different from the ordinary but is available to anyone. From this vantage point, we can see the inner journey from a detached yet insightful perspective. It allows you to understand experiences with more clarity and depth, akin to stepping back to view a painting in its entirety rather than focusing on individual brushstrokes.

Integration with Spiritual Allies

In this awakened state, the significance of your spiritual allies – the Protector, Healer, and Wise Advisor – will intensify, if you allow it. They are not merely separate entities providing guidance; they can become integral to your souls journey. By connecting with your guides you can bring balance and harmony to both you spiritual and physical existence.

Embracing the Journey to the Self

I hope to inspire you to embark on your own path toward discovering your True Self. This journey to awakening as a spiritual being, though filled with challenges, is incredibly rewarding. Remember, you are more than your experiences; you are a soul, a being of light and wisdom. Embracing this truth can significantly transform your perception and interaction with the world.

Communicating with Our Inner Aspects

An essential part of this journey, involves dialoguing with our various inner aspects. Whether it's the wounded child, the nurturing parental energy, the expressive sensual self, the raw anger, the rebellious spirit, the vulnerable teenager, the indulgent lazy part, or the pragmatic side, these conversations transcend mere guidance. They offer a pathway to self-discovery, providing insights that continually shape our understanding of ourselves and our place in the world.

In this place of the Self, we become aware of our wholeness, letting go of anxiety and dissatisfaction. Here we can be either passive witnesses or active doers, whichever is called for, and in this state, we seem to know clearly what it is we are to do.
